Purple Iris - Photography by 29k Productions, LLC of Coeur d'Alene, IdahoCoeur d'Alene's 15th Annual Garden Tour happens this Sunday, July 15 from 11:00a to 4:00p. It features five gardens with live music, artisans, and vendors with garden-related items at each garden venue. Tickets are available at many area garden centers for $15 in advance (list below). Tickets are available at each garden for $17 on the day of the tour. For more information, call 208.664.0987 or 208.772.3148.

Featured Gardens

Bob and Diane Hoffman - 12259 W. Span Way Rd., Post Falls
This garden includes vegetables along with flowers as well as an assortment of berries and fruit trees. It also features stunning sculptures, including garden structures made from recycled materials.

Stacey Bishop - 201 E. Sixth Ave., Post Falls
The former owner of Petal Pushers nursery shows off her garden which overflows with colorful annuals and perennials, many of which have been artistically planted in antique containers of every shape and size.

Shelley and Ron Rosenberger - 4789 Lancaster Ave., Hayden
This garden features ornamental grazes, colorful hanging baskets, deer-resistant perennials and a large waterfall. The garden is part of a 160 acre ranch.

Kathy Kelley and Jim Walsh - 12519 Emerald Dr., Hayden
A "Hobbit Garden" with a whimsical treehouse, many shade-loving perennials, hanging baskets and a large koi pond. All of these elements come together to create a truly tranquil garden experience.

Ann and Dennis Brueggemann - 1724 E. Coeur d'Alene Ave., Coeur d'Alene
A small garden with drought-tolerant perennials, a xeriscaped front yard, and a side yard with espaliered apple and pear trees. The back garden features a small pond, fruit trees and many other beautiful plants, including vegetables and berries. Xeriscaping is a form of landscaping and gardening that reduces or even eliminates the need for supplemental water from irrigation.
