It's almost Thanksgiving! Hard to believe that we're almost through 2011, just a little more than a month to go. If you're much like me, you'll be spending some time this week with family and good friends, having a nice Thanksgiving dinner, and then going to bed early Thursday night in preparation for an early morning shopping trip on Black Friday. Usually I've hit up all the sales by eleven, and get home for another nap before heading out to the parade and fireworks.

A Coeur d'Alene School District initiative to educate staff and students in the suicide prevention program "Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR). It is the district's goal to have every staff member and high school student trained in QPR before the winter break, and this information night is to connect with parents and guardians prior to the student learning component so parents can be informed about the program's content. Auditions for Wendy Wasserstein's 2004 play Third, as produced by the NIC Theater Department. Third was Wasserstein's last play, and takes place at a small New England liberal arts college over the course of an academic year. The play handles issues of stereotyping, identity politics, and familial problems. Auditions are cold readings from the script. All community members are encouraged to audition! Free Community Thanksgiving Meal - 11:00a to 4:00p

The Fedora, Kiwanis of Coeur d'Alene, local churches, agencies, businesses, and service organizations are organizing a free meal on Thanksgiving. The plan is to feed 1,000 people. All are welcome. Bags of non-perishable food will also be distributed. Food and monetary donations are still welcome. Donations can be dropped off at The Fedora or Prairie Avenue Christian Center (3639 W. Prairie). There will be pick up/drop off service continually at the Target parking lot, St. Vincent's Warming Centers in CdA & Post Falls, Michael D's Eatery, and Cherished One's Ministry. The parade starts at 8th & Sherman and proceeds from there to City Park at Northwest Blvd & Government Way

Lighting Ceremony Fireworks & Celebration - 6:15p

Join in the countdown, then watch as fireworks light up the night sky. At the end of the fireworks the Resort flips the switch to turn on their over 1.5 million light Christmas display.
