The Fifth Annual Coeur d'Alene Parks Day Celebration will be on July 14, 2012.

Last year's featured parks were Northshire, Johnson Mill River, and Coeur d'Alene Soccer Complex.

The Parks Day Celebration is all about encouraging the Coeur d'Alene community to experience the wonderful outdoor opportunities available in our city parks. This year's Parks Day Celebration will feature G.O. Phippeny Park and Winton Park.

G.O. Phippeny Park

9:00a to 2:00p

Events in Phippeny Park will include:

Free Pancake Breakfast (9:00a till it's gone!)

Coeur d'Alene Rock School
Inflatable Bouncing Castle
Sports, Environmental, & Informational Booths

Geocaching demonstrations

Winton Park

6:00p to dusk (movie to follow)

After skipping the heat of the day, the 2012 Parks Day Celebration moves to Winton Park for more family fun.

Events at Winton include:

Free Hot Dog Dinner (6:00p till it's gone)
A Movie at Dusk (presented by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department)
Art on the Edge
Coeurly Q Square Dancing
Entertainment
Inflatable Bouncer
Sports, Environmental, & Informational Booths

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to sit in for the movie--the grass gets cold after dusk!

Parks Day first occurred in 2008 as an event to help facilitate more knowledge about Coeur d'Alene's many beautiful parks and outdoor opportunities. Parks Day 2008 featured Bluegrass, Ramsey, and Riverstone parks. In 2009 Parks Day was held in the Shadduck Lane and Cherry Hill parks and also featured the Canfield Mountain Trails. 2010's featured parks were Sunshine Meadows and Landings parks.
